USAID projects contribute to the European integration process too
Prishtina, 27 July2017 - Today, Minister Ahmetaj hosted in a meeting the Head of USAID in Kosovo, James Hope.
During this meeting was discussed on possibilities of mutual cooperation within the priorities of the Government of Kosovo, the European Agenda and projects in which USAID is engaged. Among them are the projects in the areas of Justice, Good Governance, Economic development and Employment growth, respectively among women, production of efficient energy, agriculture and the development of small and medium-size businesses. The above areas contribute to and are part of the European Agenda, and the implementation of the SAA for Kosovo.
It was also discussed in more details the issue of coordination of donations for Kosovo, including projects under the Instrument for Pre-accession (IPA) funds, EU projects and projects of other countries for the purpose of having a better coordination of investments.
On this occasion, Minister Ahmetaj emphasized the importance of including all the stakeholders in contributing to the priorities that are vital to the economic development of the country and the well-being of citizens, at the same time aiming for maximum increase of exports; Also, ensure the support for export opportunities, considering that USAID, as other donors did, consistently contributed to capacity building and know-how on production and cultivation of various agricultural crops.
