MEI serves as National Focal Point for Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Japanese ODA has been provided to Kosovo since after the conflict in 1998, first as humanitarian aid and eventually shifting to development assistance. Since 2009 the bilateral aid is implemented through JICA in the form of Technical Cooperation and Grant Aid with the possibility of shifting to Loan Assistance in the near future. The major objective of this assistance is the stabilization of the economic and social infrastructure towards a sustainable nation building. Within this objective, there are two prioritized areas: -Developing environmental infrastructure and the management capacity; -Enhancing administrative capacity and human resources.https://www.jica.go.jp/kosovo/english/index.ht
